NEWS: Gift Tax Exemption Now $11,000
Formerly one could give up to $10,000 per year to an individual
recipient without filing a gift tax form. This amount has
now been raised to $11,000.

NEWS: Estate Tax Exemption Reaches 2 Million in 2006

Starting January 1, 2006, all estates under $2,000,000 will
not be subject to any estate tax upon the transfer of the
property. This excemption is to again be increased in 2009
to $3.5 million.

NEWS: Generation Skipping Transfer Taxed Same Rate as
Estate Exemption
Changes in Generation Skipping Transfer (GST) Taxes mirror
the estate tax changes. GST taxes generally apply to inheritances
that skip a generation. The GST tax exemption for a given
year is equal to the estate tax exemption ranging between
$1,000,000 in year 2002 and $3,500,000 in year 2009.
